No mention was made that the Boy Scouts also discriminate against atheists

And of course among educated people, like those that work at Intel there is a much higher percent of atheists then in the general population.

The Boy Scouts of America has lost one of its biggest corporate donors.

Earlier in September, Eagle Scout Zach Wahls launched a campaign urging Intel to pull funding from the Boy Scouts. It came following a report that revealed the company gave nearly $700,000 in volunteer matching grants to the Boy Scouts in 2010.

The campaign was based upon the Boy Scouts policy that bans openly gay members.

In a statement, Intel said the decision to not fund the Boy Scouts was made based upon "new rigor that requires any organization to confirm that it adheres to Intel’s anti-discrimination policy in order to receive funding."

While confirming the change, Intel said it was not a direct result of Wahl's campaign, and instead as a result of policy changes made earlier in the year.

"Intel made the right decision here, in order to live up to their corporate values of diversity, equality and individual liberty," said Wahls. "Companies that support the LGBT community simply can't be in the business of funding organizations that discriminate.

Intel is one of the largest employers in the Valley.
