MCC student Crystal Hayden, also known as adult film star Madison Scott, is diligently working on getting her degree in international business despite distractions resulting from her career choice.

Students who recognize her realize she is no typical college student if they have seen her hard at work in her adult videos.

Hayden finds their interest to be intriguing.

"I think that everyone admires stuff that they don't really know much about, and that's totally fine and typical and I don't mind explaining myself to people so long as they're somewhat open minded," commented Hayden.

"I'm completely a sex bomb, I get why people (stare at) me. I totally do because I reek of sex because I think about it all the time. I'm just a sexual person in general," Hayden says of herself.

She often gets asked for autographs and is prompted with questions regarding the industry.

Although it can seem flattering at the right times, often her fans can't resist the urge of confronting her in class and it causes for a distraction usually resulting in her dropping the class.

"It definitely brings up my confidence and makes me feel good to get recognized. it just makes me feel like I can't focus and concentrate on what I'm learning and obviously they're not focusing and learning if their looking at me," Hayden said. At 21 years of age, Hayden has a lot of life experience under her belt and she speaks direct and honestly about her history and why she started in the industry.

As a new mother at age 18, still very naive and innocent to the world and wanting to provide for her child, she got started in the industry.

"At the time I just turned 18 and I had a little baby and so I decided the money would be insanely good so I decided to go for it." Hayden's parents had divorced when she was five and her mother left, leaving her father alone to raise her.

"My dad does know and it bothers him, he's not happy about it but he's supportive to the point, like he's proud of me for taking care of myself and my family, but he's just saddened by the choice."

Hayden does however feel things would be different with her mother's influence. "I think if I would've had a mom she would've told me no." As Hayden recognizes her loss she strives to be a good mom herself, as she is very close and involved in her four year old daughter's life.

"My daughter is my light and world and I could never leave her. I just want her to have a normal, stable life."

Hayden desperately wants to preserve her daughter's purity as she worries how her daughter may feel or think when she finds out.

"I think it's definitely the thing that worries me the most because daughters look up to their mothers and I want her to be able to respect me and look up to me. I want this beautiful innocence that she has to remain forever," Hayden said.

However she is completely aware as she continues, "I know eventually it's going to come to light because you can't erase the internet."

Conscious of the repercussions of her actions Hayden already has an idea of how she plans on explaining to her baby when she feels the time is appropriate.

"I don't want her to be afraid to tell me anything, I just want her to be honest about everything and I feel like if I'm honest with her and she can tell I'm honest then she'll always be honest with me."

Hayden plans to tell her daughter, "I was 18, I was really young, I wasn't fully matured yet and I didn't know the ramifications of everything I was getting into, but I knew that I loved you and I wanted to give you everything." In addition to appearing in front of a camera, Hayden has started her own production company called Twysted Elegance Entertainment and two charities Porn for a Purpose and I Work for the World. "Porn for a Purpose, for me, is a charity that gives porn stars an outlet to do charity for other people, an outlet to find themselves."

Hayden gives credit for her confidence with her sexuality to the industry.

"I've been with over a 1000 people and probably the majority of them were older women some in their 40's, and some in their 20's. I know I'm their best lover."

She referred to her mother's absence as she explains, "I probably liked older women because of her leaving." For Hayden it is not insulting if people don't agree with her career choice.

"Porn's not for everyone, everyone has their own religious beliefs and their own moral beliefs. You're not offending me by not watching it; in fact you're offending me if you watch it and you don't like it, I worked so hard on it." Porn is a growing industry and getting more popular by the day and yet society still deems it offensive. "It's just perceived as this bad taboo and people don't ever want to talk about it but yet it's the biggest job in the world it makes more money revenue wise than anything else on the entire planet." When prompted about why society is in such a controversy over porn, Hayden replied, "I think everyone makes it a really big deal, but in the end it is just sex."

Despite the negative stereotypes attached to porn, Hayden appreciates what the industry has provided her. "The best thing was traveling and meeting amazing people and getting to go to really nice (places). "The industry provided me an outlet, an outlet to act, it provided me an outlet to meet people... and get out there and learn about myself."

Although overall she is satisfied with her choice to partake in the industry, Hayden also had some bad experiences.

"Escorting and dealing with people on drugs was the hardest. If I could go back I would tell myself some things to do different, but I wouldn't change being in the industry. I think that it's made me who I am and I've enjoyed the growing process."

"As you get older you grow wisdom wise so you learn that it's OK not to be perfect.

Former porn actress makes new start as Chandler mom

Walking into an insurance agency, you would never guess the receptionist with soft porcelain skin and wavy long blonde hair is a single mom who made a small fortune as a star in the world of video and online pornography.

To her friends and family, she is Crystal Hayden, 22, a loving Chandler mom and a aspiring professional photographer. On pornographic websites and films, she was Madison Scott for four years until last year.

Hayden was 17 when she gave birth to Cadence, now 4. A year later, she entered the world of online and video pornography in order to support her baby and raise money to go to college.

She said she never had anticipated how far her porn career would go. She began modeling and starring in adult films and quickly shot to one of the top tiers of porn actresses, earning approximately $1 million over the past four years.

But Hayden ultimately decided her fame and earnings came at too great a cost.

"The money ends up being spent on medical bills to pay for all the health problems you get from sleeping with so many people, drugs, pills, and alcohol to numb the pain, and lavish material items that make you feel a temporary high and happiness," said Hayden, who asked that her current employer not be identified. "In the end, you realize the only thing that matters is love, friends, and family."

Hayden and her two siblings were raised in Chandler without a mother and that she was determined not to let Cadence grow up the same way.

"I have always taken care of Cadence, but before, I was worrying about her and everyone else," she said. "Now, I am just focused on us. We are a team."

Last year, she went from a somewhat glamorous life as a porn star to the life of an average single mom.

"It sounds weird, but I've never been happier," Hayden said. "Before I was having fun and I was happy most of the time, but now I'm happy all the time."

A few months ago, Hayden quit the business and filed for divorce. Her soon-to-be ex-husband, Cadence's father, lives in Utah.

Hayden no longer runs Madison Scott's production company in Los Angeles. She plans on working her way through college and earning a doctorate before her 30th birthday. She also wants to open a mainstream media and photography business in the Southeast Valley.

Living in a three-bedroom/two-bath apartment, she is a receptionist and marketing representative at an insurance agency and began attending a Christian center, where she says she has turned her life over to God.

Her sister, Sara, says she's proud of her conversion. "I'm proud of her. She's doing what she needs to do to take care of her daughter first. . . . I've never seen her be so successful," Sara Hayden said.

Hayden and Cadence still deal with consequences of Madison Scott. When parents of a child in Cadence's class recognized Hayden, they made it clear their child was never to have a play-date with her.

"It's sad," Hayden said. "Many people are quick to judge me and think they know me, but they're afraid to admit the reason they recognize me is because they watched my work."

Hayden plans to tell Cadence about Madison Scott before someone else does, but for now she just wants to be a good role model for her daughter. Having graduated high school at 16, she wants to teach Cadence how to be a strong, independent, intelligent woman.

"You can't just use your body; you have to use your brain, too. The one thing no one can ever take away from you is your education," Hayden said.
