Drones will become the weapon of freedom fighters???

I was reading this article and it smacked me in the head that drones will evently become the weapon of choice for freedom fighters.

I suspect that drones will become the tool of freedom fighters thru out the world once the technology of building them is available to the man on the street. And I don't think that is too far off.

Currently you can buy an off the self GPS unit to put on a drone to tell you the drones location.

Currently you can purchase dirt cheep industrial computers that can be used to be the brains of a drone and run things.

Currently you can also buy off the shelf cameras that can be used for the vision system of a drone.

And of course building a drone isn't any more complex then building a radio controlled toy airplane.

And of course you can buy off the shelf equipment at any toy store to control your radio controlled toy airplane or drone.

I wasn't a bit surprised when I read that the military is using XBOX game controllers to control many of their robots, including drones.

And of course anybody can buy an XBOX game controller off the shelf and modify it to control a drone.

And of course some of you might be thinking what about weapons?

Well any body can buy a 50 pound bag (25 kilos) of ammonium nitrate for $15 to $18 at Wal-Mart or Home Depot and use that for a high explosive part of a missile? And yes, that 50 pound sack of ammonium nitrate that you toss to your flowers or tomatos to make them grow is almost as powerful as a 50 pound sack of TNT.

Just so I won't get thrown in jail by the Homeland Security goons that read my web pages I am not suggesting that anybody buy, build or even think about building a drone to use for criminal purposes.

I'm just saying that the genie is out of the bottle and that any smart person on the street with a limited amount of resources is capable of building a drone for a reasonable price that can be just as deadly as military systems in the past that were only available to governments at cost of millions of dollars.
