On Thursday, October 4, 2012 NORML
was shooting photos at Hole in the Rock
at Papago Park and Phoenix Park ranger
G Sotomayor shut down our photo session and
told us it is illegal to shoot photos in Papago Park.
I wonder when the the city of Phoenix pass a law making the First Amendment null and void in Papago Park? The First Amendment reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. And just why was NORML shooting photos in Papago Park? Well for one we were going to use the photos to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" relating to the draconian and unconstitutional "drug war" laws. We were also "people peaceably to assembling" again to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" relating to the draconian and unconstitutional "drug war" laws. And last but not least we were shooting the photos to exercise our "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press", again to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" relating to the draconian and unconstitutional "drug war" laws. I don't know if Phoenix Park Rangers G Sotomayor shut down our photo session because he knew that NORML wants to legalize drugs, or if Phoenix Park Rangers G Sotomayor is just a jackbooted police thugs who likes to rain on the parade of anybody that gets near him, but it doesn't matter Phoenix Park Rangers G Sotomayor violated our 1st and 14th Amendment Constitutional rights. |
