Some of you may like this. Personally I am a Libertarian. I am not a "Tea Party" person and I don't like Glenn Beck, even if he is a little bit Libertarian leaning. Yes, Democrats who want to legalize marijuana, and Republicans who support gun rights are both Libertarian leaning, but like Glen Beck, they are not real Libertarians. But I am sure publicity hound Ernie Hancock will love this event because he likes to schmooze with famous people and he will get to schmooze with Glen Beck. GOP politicians will speak, including congressional candidate Matt Salmon, state Treasurer Doug Ducey and Phoenix City Councilman Jim Waring. From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., training will be offered on grass-roots efforts such as yard-sign blitzing, phone banking, vote research and door-to-door outreach. The evening program, from 4 to 7 p.m., will be a “call-to-action rally” with speakers including the co-producer of the upcoming movie “Atlas Shrugged: Part II.” The event is hosted by FreedomWorks, which connects activists nationwide to support lower taxes and less government. The Washington, D.C.-based group is known for helping to foster the “tea party” movement. Tickets, sold at the door or at www.freepac.com, are $15. |
